Know for certain, before you act

You cannot tell whether a material contains asbestos just by looking at it, the only reliable way is laboratory analysis. If you have found something suspect, spotted an unknown material during building work, or need to confirm a survey finding, asbestos sampling gives you a definite yes or no.

Our trained samplers collect material safely under controlled conditions and send it to a UKAS-accredited laboratory for analysis. A single sample starts from around £125, with most results back within a few working days. We also carry out the full range of asbestos air monitoring, background, reassurance, leak and personal monitoring, and the independent four-stage clearance testing required after licensed removal.

Please never break, cut or disturb a suspect material to sample it yourself, that is exactly how fibres get released. Call us and we will take it properly. And because we are a licensed removal contractor too, if a result comes back positive we can manage or remove it for you, no need to start again with another firm.

One material, one answer

Testing suits the single question: is this ceiling, board, floor or roof asbestos? A sample is taken under controlled conditions — wetted, sealed, the point of extraction stabilised — and analysed at a UKAS-accredited laboratory.

From £25 a sample it is the cheapest decision-making tool in the industry: it either releases you to treat the material as ordinary waste or tells you exactly what you are dealing with.

DIY sampling is a false economy

Taking a sample dry-scrapes fibres into the air of your own home, and an unaccredited postal kit result is worthless to a buyer’s solicitor or the HSE. Done properly, sampling is quick, tidy and leaves a sealed, labelled point behind.

If the whole building needs assessing rather than one material, you want a survey instead — we’ll tell you honestly which applies.

Results you can act on

Results typically land within 24–48 hours, faster where a project is waiting. The certificate states the material, the asbestos type if present, and stands as formal evidence for conveyancing, contractors and building control.

How much does an asbestos test cost?

A single asbestos sample analysed by our UKAS-accredited lab starts from around £125. If you need several samples or a full survey, we will give you a fixed price up front. Never disturb a suspect material yourself to get a sample, contact us and we will take it safely.

Can I take my own asbestos sample?

We strongly advise against it. Breaking or cutting a suspect material can release fibres. A trained sampler takes the sample under controlled conditions with the right protection and double-bagging. It is safer, and the result is properly documented.

How long do results take?

Standard laboratory analysis results are typically available within a few working days. We offer faster turnaround where a project timeline demands it, just ask when you book.

What is air monitoring and when do I need it?

Air monitoring measures asbestos fibres in the air. It is used for background and reassurance testing, leak checks during works, personal exposure monitoring and the four-stage clearance after licensed removal. It proves an area is safe to reoccupy.

Is your testing accredited?

Yes. Samples and air tests are analysed by UKAS-accredited analysts, the recognised standard, so your results stand up to scrutiny from building control, insurers and buyers.

What happens if the test is positive?

We explain your options clearly, from managing the material in place to full removal. As a licensed removal contractor we can handle whatever comes next, or simply give you the report if you prefer to manage it yourself.
