WHERE WE WORK

The buildings we work in

Mills, factories, warehouses, plant rooms and process buildings — industrial premises carry the heaviest asbestos use in the country: cement roof sheets, sprayed coatings on steel, thermal lagging, gaskets and rope seals on plant.
We plan around production: shutdown-window working, permit-to-work integration, working at height on fragile roofs, and waste routes sized for industrial volumes — so removal happens without stopping the line longer than agreed.

Built for heavy environments

Industrial buildings hold the heaviest asbestos in the UK: sprayed limpet on steelwork, thick vessel and pipe lagging in plant rooms, gaskets and ropes buried in machinery, and acres of cement roofing and cladding. We remove all of it — at volume, at height, and around live plant — with the enclosure engineering, access equipment and licensed waste logistics that industrial quantities demand.
Downtime is the real cost on an industrial site, so we plan removal around production, not the other way round. Shutdown windows, nights and weekends are standard practice; phased enclosures keep the rest of the plant running; and for decommissioned units we combine removal with soft strip and demolition or industrial cleaning so the site is handed back ready for its next use. Larger contracts run through our commercial asbestos removal service with a dedicated contracts manager.

Compliance at industrial scale

Licensed work is notified to the HSE, enclosures are smoke-tested and held under negative pressure, and independent air monitoring and four-stage clearance certify every area before re-occupation. Waste — from bagged lagging to full roof sheets — moves under consignment notes to licensed facilities, with the full document trail returned for your compliance records.

The heavy end of asbestos work

Industrial premises hold the materials that demand full licensed controls: sprayed limpet coatings on structural steel, thermal lagging on pipe runs, vessels and calorifiers, gaskets, ropes and seals within plant, cement roofing and cladding by the thousand square metre, and AIB linings in offices and welfare blocks. We scope all of it from a single refurbishment and demolition survey and deliver removal as one programme — enclosures, air monitoring, four-stage clearance and consigned hazardous waste.

Built around production, not against it

Downtime costs more than removal. We plan licensed work into shutdown windows, nights and weekends, hand back areas section by section, and coordinate with your engineers on isolations and permits. For decommissioning and demolition-led projects, our soft strip teams follow the asbestos crews through the same programme, so one contractor carries the job from survey to clear site.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

Industrial questions, answered

01Can you work around our production schedule or shutdown windows?
Yes — most industrial removal we do is programmed into planned shutdowns, nights or weekends. Tell us the window and we’ll resource to fit it, including multiple shifts where the window is tight.
02Do you remove asbestos from plant and machinery?
Yes. Gaskets, ropes, seals and lagging on vessels, pipework and machinery are everyday work for our teams, whether the plant is being maintained, decommissioned or scrapped.
03How do you handle large volumes of asbestos waste?
With planned logistics: sealed skips and enclosed vehicles scheduled through the job, consignment notes for every movement, and disposal at licensed facilities. Volume never becomes an excuse for waste sitting on your site.
04Do you work out of hours?
Yes — nights, weekends and shutdown periods are standard for industrial clients. Out-of-hours working is priced into the fixed quote up front.
05Can you remove cement roofs while production continues below?
Usually yes — netting or crash decks, zoned working and weather planning let the line keep running while sheets come off overhead.
06Do you remove sprayed coatings and thermal lagging?
Yes — this is the highest-risk licensed work: full enclosures, negative pressure, controlled wet stripping and independent four-stage clearance on every job.
07How do you manage fragile roofs and working at height?
Fragile-roof method statements, MEWPs, edge protection and competent, rescue-trained teams — height risk is planned out before anyone leaves the ground.
08Can you work within our permit systems?
Yes — inductions, isolations, confined space entry and your permit-to-work regime are built into the RAMS, not bolted on at the gate.
09What size of project can you take on?
From a set of gaskets on one flange to multi-week factory strips — directly employed teams scale up without subcontract chains.
10Can you decontaminate plant for scrap or resale?
Yes — plant and steel cleaned, sampled and certificated so it can leave site as clean scrap or resale assets rather than contaminated waste.
