Licensed removal of asbestos thermal insulation at a working manufacturing site on Queen Street, planned around the plant’s operations. Fully enclosed with negative pressure and air monitoring, and independently cleared on completion.
Because thermal insulation is among the highest-risk asbestos products, the work ran under a 14-day HSE notification with a smoke-tested enclosure, negative pressure units and airlocks — finishing with independent four-stage clearance before anyone re-entered the area.

Innov8 UK Group was contacted by the client to attend the Krempel site in Longridge after thermal insulation was identified for removal in a recently commissioned asbestos survey. Following a site assessment and approval of the works, IUG notified the relevant authority and carried out the removal of thermal insulation cladding from a redundant oven within the technology production unit.
The site assessment and subsequent sample analysis confirmed the full removal of approx. 10m² of amosite thermal insulation cladded to the exterior of the oven. The works were undertaken under fully controlled conditions, with removal carried out at height using a step ladder and hop-up platforms within a purpose-built enclosure maintained under negative pressure. The project was completed over a four-day period.
Asbestos risks were controlled through fully licensed removal within a purpose-built enclosure under negative pressure, using controlled wet-removal techniques, shadow vacuuming, strict decontamination procedures and independent UKAS-accredited air monitoring in accordance with CAR 2012 and HSG247. Work-at-height and access-equipment risks were managed through site-specific risk assessments, competent supervision, and the compliant use and inspection of the step ladder and hop-up platforms.
The works were carried out within a live factory environment where highly flammable liquids were present, alongside ongoing operations involving active plant, machinery and site personnel. Our team maintained strict adherence to site safety procedures and full awareness of surrounding activities throughout.
All arisings were double-bagged and removed as hazardous asbestos waste under consignment note to a licensed disposal facility, with a full documentation pack issued to the client on completion.
