Wet-injection and controlled stripping techniques kept fibre release suppressed inside the enclosure, with personal and background air monitoring throughout and an independent analyst certifying the area clean before handback.

IUG has been instructed by Arax Properties to carry out licensed asbestos removal works at Shop 13, Falcon Works. A refurbishment and demolition survey were conducted on the redundant building on the agreed date (Ref: B-41846S2) by an independent UKAS-accredited analytical company Services, which confirmed the presence of ACMs. A site assessment was performed on the agreed date, and the works are scheduled for the agreed date running through to the completion date off the agreed date.
Enclosure 1 – 018 Workshop: This involves the removal of insulation debris from the floor trench under fully controlled conditions.
Enclosure 2 – 014 Store: The scope includes the removal of redundant pipework containing 2lm of asbestos thermal wrapping, along with debris from the 4m² floor area.
Redundant Pipework: This entails the removal of 8lm of internal and external pipework penetrating the roof by mechanical means. Insulation residues have been noted on the pipework as presumed.
E01 & E02 Removal works were carried out under fully controlled conditions within a purpose-built enclosure, which was maintained under negative pressure. Wetting techniques, wrap and cut, and shadow vacuuming was employed to minimise fibre release.
OBSTRUCTIONS MAKING ACCESS AND THE WORKS MORE DIFFICULT The redundant pipework (Item 2) in the roof area was removed using a demolition machine grab. Given the weight and access challenges of the pipework, this method has been identified as the safest approach for removal. Once the pipework reaches ground level, it was wrapped and disposed of within the segregated compartment of the waste vehicle.
No asbestos within the scope of works to 014 & 018 to be left in situ.
