Sheets were unbolted whole wherever possible — never smashed out — kept damp to suppress fibres, wrapped on site and taken to a licensed transfer station with duty-of-care paperwork completed the same day.

Following a site visit on the agreed date by our project manager, licensed asbestos removal works were awarded for the removal and disposal of approximately 15m² of Asbestos Insulating Board (AIB) ceiling panels from the external garage of a private domestic property undergoing full refurbishment. Works were carried out in accordance with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, HSG247 and current industry best practice, within a fully enclosed negative pressure enclosure by trained and competent licensed personnel. The property fronts St Helens Road, a busy main road with adjacent bus stop and bus lane; control measures protected the public, neighbouring residents and pedestrians. All asbestos waste was removed by IUG in a fully enclosed segregated waste compartment to the licensed hazardous waste facility (our licensed waste carrier). Prior to enclosure construction, the client is to clear existing construction debris from the front of the garage so far as reasonably practicable.
