Extensive licensed removal across three full enclosures, pipe insulation residues, AIB and cement materials containing all three asbestos fibre types, with negative pressure, airlocks and encapsulation on completion.
Because thermal insulation is among the highest-risk asbestos products, the work ran under a 14-day HSE notification with a smoke-tested enclosure, negative pressure units and airlocks — finishing with independent four-stage clearance before anyone re-entered the area.

A site visit was undertaken at Nazareth House, Crosby on the agreed date by our project manager (Contracts Manager, Innov8 UK Group) and the client’s representative (Maintenance Manager, NH) to assess the extent of asbestos removal works required. The survey identified extensive asbestos-containing materials across multiple plant and basement areas, requiring licensed removal under controlled conditions.
Works commenced on the agreed date and was carried out across three fully enclosed work areas (E01, E02, and E03). The scope includes removal of asbestos insulation residues, insulation debris, asbestos insulating board (AIB), and asbestos cement materials identified within these enclosures.
Within Enclosures E01 E02 and E03, the painted wall surfaces were scraped back as far as reasonably practicable to remove any visible asbestos residues and subsequently encapsulated on completion to ensure the surface remains sealed and managed The materials contain mixed asbestos fibre types — Chrysotile, Amosite, and Crocidolite — present as pipe insulation residues, wall residues, floor debris, and suspected concealed AIB panels. Each enclosure was established with full negative pressure systems, airlocks, and decontamination units in accordance with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 and the HSG247 The principal contractor’ Guide.
