During works to Doncaster SPO Enclosure 1, additional Asbestos Insulating Board (AIB) panels were identified beyond the confirmed sow into the next building. Further investigation confirmed that the AIB ceiling panels continued into the adjoining Jarvis Building, which had been scheduled for works at a later stage. The continuation was taken flush with the brickwork, encapsulated and voided to define the boundary for the upcoming Phase 2 works.
A site visit carried out on the agreed date to the Jarvis Building confirmed further AIB ceiling panels to five separate areas within the front section of the building. These were noted for inclusion within the next phase of the licensed works.
A follow-up site meeting was held on the agreed date with the client the principal contractor’s representative, during which the programme of works and logistics were confirmed for commencement on Monday the agreed date. Prior to live asbestos removal, pre-works guano removal was required, along with the continuation of thermoplastic floor tiles and bitumen adhesive removal, as identified during Phase 1.
