Innov8 UK Group completed the fully licensed removal of an asbestos insulating board (AIB) ceiling — approx. 12m² — to the bathroom of Milton House, Preston (PR5 4AR). An independent asbestos survey had identified the AIB and recommended the area be kept out of use until remedial works were agreed.
With the property vacant between tenancies and a refurbishment planned, the client instructed a full licensed removal so the strip-out could proceed safely. Because AIB is one of the higher-risk asbestos-containing materials, the works were carried out under our HSE licence within a sealed enclosure held under negative pressure, using controlled wet-stripping, class H vacuuming and fine-mist dust suppression throughout.
The enclosure passed independent four-stage clearance and all asbestos waste was consignment-noted and disposed of at a licensed facility. If you need licensed asbestos removal or asbestos removal in Preston, Innov8 UK Group covers the whole of the UK from bases in Manchester, Carlisle and London — surveyed properly, quoted fixed and documented fully.
Following an enquiry from the client, Innov8 UK Group attended site to evaluate the remedial actions identified in an independent asbestos management survey, which had recommended restricting access to the bathroom until the required works were determined. The premises were unoccupied following the previous tenants vacating, with the owners planning refurbishment. The client instructed the safe removal and disposal of the AIB ceiling — approx. 12m² — to enable the planned refurbishment.
The removal was completed under fully controlled, licensed conditions — a sealed enclosure under continuous negative pressure, controlled wet-stripping of the AIB panels, class H shadow vacuuming and fine-mist dust suppression. On completion the enclosure was independently air-tested and passed four-stage clearance before being dismantled.
All arisings were double-bagged, sealed and removed as hazardous asbestos waste under consignment note to a licensed disposal facility. The client received a full completion pack including the plan of work, waste documentation and clearance certification.
